what price popularity?

The news headlines today announced that the Clintons had an income in excess of 100 million dollars, due in large part to Bill Clinton's popularity in speakling engagements and other activities. That is a huge testament to the interest shown by the public. I suspect a large part of those monies came from grateful republicans who had an eight year run in the white house becasue of Bill's daliance with the ladies. there is no doubt that Al Gore would have won the election without the scandal paraded around the world by gleeful republicans.

It was a sad price to pay and the nation will forever be in debt from the Bush excessive spending on a fruitless war. But at least, the Clintons have a tidy sum tucked away for a rainy day. What price popularity!!!
