Democrats achilles heel

More than fifty years have passed since I registered as a democrat and I have finally discovered why we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot so much. We have lost elections over the years because our party has been hijacked by elitists. Our democratic leaders never lost sight of the common man until the highly educated took over. The current campaign for a nominee has brought a sharp focus on those in party power. We see such leaders as Howard Dean, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, who lost bids for higher power, now enamoured by Barack Obama, who has a smooth way of talking to both the ignorant and the educated

It seems obvious that party leaders prefer Obama to Hillary Clinton because he is one of them. Hillary , on the other hand, is a little rough around the edges and she walks the walk and talks the talk of the average working man. This has been demonstrated at the polls.

The average working man may appear to be ignorant, but he has an uncanny ability to spot a phony who speaks out of both sides of his mouth....and, he will reject that person. But in this election the working man may not have enough numbers to overcome the rich and the powerful. If that happens, we will see a sharper divide between the middle class and the elite. The final curtain will draw down on a defeated people who are the lifeline and the backbone of this country.

  1. the anti-intellectualism in this country is what brought us eight years of W. why in the world is it a bad idea for your president to be smarter than you???? i don't want the leader of the first world to be "like me," or "a regular joe." i want him/her to be smart as all hell! as educated as it gets - so smart that i am in awe. why doesn't everyone want that? i just don't get it. intellectual leaders are a GOOD thing.
