It's Not Fair

The news media is agog today with revelations of Tiger Woods' numerous affairs with women.....and his tail is being twisted by pundits all over the world. True, he is an international hero who is worth millions, but I agree with Tiger that sex is a private affair that should be left alone. After all, the day is past when women were placed on a pedestal and revered. The modern woman is an equal partner in a sexual encounter and does not deserve the unfair advantage she enjoys today. Rumor has it that Tiger has paid millions to silence the women who are coming forward to threaten his privacy.  His own wife is negotiating a new settlement because of this event and will probably end up with a large bank account.

Sex is an enjoyable encounter between two (or more) people. It is a relatioship that provides participants with pleasure and who is to say which of the parties gets the most from it. Certainly not a paycheck, but that seems to be the way it is. Why should a woman, who enters into a sex affair, have an advantage over a man? It is mutual event, and should be treated as such. Perhaps we need some legislation that protects not only the woman, but the man.
We have seen numerous sex affairs promulgated by our legislators who have been discovered to their dismay and discomfort. Who better is qualfied to right this wrong?

  1. um, excuse me - but men continue to treat sex as a commodity that they can buy and sell. otherwise, we wouldn't have prostitution or sex trafficking. it's generally not women who are on the demand side of the sex industry, it's overwhelmingly men. men continue to enjoy the advantages in our society that lead to power and wealth and they use these advantages to "purchase" favors of women who are willing. it has very little to do with relationships. the dynamic has been set up - tiger is hardly innocent. he (and countless others) has used his money and power to get what he wants . . . yet you would condemn the women who participated in a game they didn't create? i don't get it. not that i am condoning their behavior, mind you. but like they say "don't hate the player, hate the game."

oh, and if you really think that women are now "equal partners" with men, you need to get out more. just one small example: a woman still makes 30% less in salary than a man doing the same job.
