Put a plug in it !

It seems to me that there is a simple solution to the oil spill un the Gulf of Mexico. Put a plug in it !  BP offers its method by drilling more wells. I find that interesting and even more so that they continue to harvest the ruptured oil as they lament our losses. There are two methods that should be effective in solving the problem. Consider a neoprene capsule that can be thrust down the pipe, then inflated to seal off the oil. I favor a more solid way by milling a 30-foot wooden utility pole, tapered at the end and gradually widening until it is two inches larger than the diameter of the pipe at the final six feet.  Bolt a two-ton steel plate on the larger end and drop itdown the hole. The weight of the steel plate will proovide the thrust needed to overcome the flow pressure.  Of course this would probably put an end to further drilling at such depths if congress has the guts to act in the peoples' interest.

I was shocked the other night when I heard one of our republican leaders apologize to BP because our president had required the company to put up 20 billion dollars to cover our losses. It made me wonder how much stock he has invested in oil drilling.  He is completly disconnected from public service and should be turned out of office at the next election.  Or better yet, let us put a plug in that man from his dental plates down to his rectum.

  1. Amen to that last idea, Daddy-o! As for their repair methods, clearly they are challenged beyond what they are currently capable of managing safely... since all the other oil companies had the same cookie cutter emergency plan, it seems safe to say that across the board none are able to safely conduct deepwater drilling. What are the chances congress will pull that off the table once and for all? Slim, I reckon. Grrr...
